This was a very fun and unique project that we were honored to be a part of.

100 years ago the Tampa water works building was built on a spring head located in Tampa, Florida. During construction the builders assembled a very robust vault in the ground and the inlet for the spring used a series of one way valves keeping the water flowing in one direction.
Fast forward 100 plus years and the building is being resurrected to a upscale Restaurant. The owners wished to repurpose the valve plate some where inside building. The Beck Group www.beckgroup.com reached out to us and together we came up with a solution that we both absolutely love.

These two pictures show the level of corrosion build up on the inlets of the plate.

After hours of hand chipping and scraping we had it back to a state where we could start creating the “artwork” side of things.

Unfortunately there were a few broken studs that needed to be extracted before it was considered returnable to our client.

The piece is being used as a bar top centerpiece and following through with a rustic theme it was left with its natural corrosion.
